The versatile key defender has experienced many injuries throughout his career at the West Coast Eagles severely limiting the number of games he has been able to play. A highly courageous player, Mitch is continuannly putting his body into situations which others dare not to go which inspires his team mates.

Coming off one of his best seasons in 2014 where he managed to play 19 games, Mitch looked set to lead the charge in 2015 of the new look West Coast defence since Darren Glass’ retirement. However after enjoying a fine preseason, Mitch ruptured his ACL in Round 1 and missed the entire season. The Eagles are looking forward to Mitch returning and helping them get one step closer to the Premiership in 2016 after being beaten by Hawthorn in the 2015 Grand Final.

With his great athleticism, Mitch is able to oppose not only on the big forwards, but also the small dangerous forwards proving him a great benefit for his team.

At the end of 2014, Mitch married his long term partner and West Coast Fever netball player, Shae Bolton. The two of them have also successfully launched and are running their own line of athletic apparel products, Once Upon A Run.
