Matt’s football journey is quite remarkable. Drafted as a rookie from the Frankston Dolphins in the VFL competition by the Western Bulldogs in 2011, Matt’s hard work and determination has transformed him into one of the Western Bulldogs favourite sons.

Known for his ability to rack up possessions and use his endurance to advantage, Matt’s hard line approach to his footy is highly respected by his team mates which saw him captain the club for three seasons. Always challenging himself and those around him to achieve as much as they can, Matt shaped the club and its future leaders during this period and continues to do so.

Matt has won multiple Best & Fairest’s for the Bulldogs and has been named All Australian on two occasions. 

Away from the club, Matt is married to his partner Kate and they have two daughters, Chloe and Asher. Matt is also finishing his Masters in Business and will look to possibly move into the Finance industry post career.
