An outstanding midfielder who was universally loved by all AFL fans for his no nonsense attitude, Joel will go down as one of Geelong’s favourite sons.

A catalyst throughout Geelong’s dominant period from 2007 – 2011, which included three Premierships, Joel epitomized the Geelong teams selfless attitude and consistent form that could be relied upon week in, week out.

Since retiring from playing at the end of the 2013 season, Joel has worked as a Development Coach at the Western Bulldogs as he passes his wisdom on to the young dogs players coming through the ranks.
