Flynn Appleby

Date of Birth: 21/01/1999

Club: Collingwood FC

Games (Goals): 11 (0)

Recruited From: 2017 NAB Rookie Draft, from Greater Western Victorian Rebels (TAC Cup)

Flynn enjoyed a solid season for the Greater Western Victorian Rebels where he was mainly used as a defender. This included playing some senior Football for the North Ballarat Roosters in the VFL which included a terrific performance against Collingwood which he would ironically select him in the Rookie Draft later in the year.

Overlooked for a spot at the State and National Combine’s, Flynn attended the Rookie Me Combine as he was determined not to give up on an AFL career. This paid off as Collingwood selected him in the Rookie Draft, culminating in 9 AFL Games in 2018 before being ruled out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury.

Unfortunately injuries continued to curtail him in 2019, however he fortunately got a clearer run in 2020 which included reinventing himself as a forward. Now with a few strings to his bow, Flynn is looking forward to playing some consistent footy in 2021.
