SHURA TAFT


Shura Taft is an Australian television and radio presenter, as well as an experienced MC who is based in Melbourne, Australia. 

An energetic and engaging personality, Shura combines his savvy presenting skills with an expert knowledge in Sport and topical issues where he can succinctly voice his thoughts and opinion. 

Commencing his TV career by co-hosting ‘Kids WB’ from 2006 until 2011, which was televised nationally on the Nine Network, he also hosted ‘Pyramid’, a children’s game show from 2009 to 2012 amassing 462 episodes.

In his time with the Nine Network, Shura also filled in by hosting the weather on the ‘Today Show’, presented stories for travel series ‘Postcards’ and was a contestant on ‘Celebrity Singing Bee’ in 2008 where his prize money of $50,000 was donated to the charity ‘TLC for Kids’. In 2011, Shura hosted two programs for the new Go! Channel, when he was the male host for ‘Eclipse Music TV’ and also hosted ‘Uplate’ with James Kerley and Natalie Garonzi. 

In 2012, Shura’s presenting roles shifted to Sport where he hosted the ‘Supercoach Show’ that was aired live on the Fox Footy Channel, and hosted the Brownlow Red Carpet and Rising Star Awards. 

This led to a breakthrough opportunity for Shura when he was selected to host the 5th season of ‘The Mole’ in 2013, along with appearing on ‘Slide Show’. In 2015 Shura hosted a golf show shown on Channel 7Two called ‘The Bunker’. 

Shura has combined his busy TV schedule with a number of Radio commitments, including working with Nova 100 from 2006 to 2012 as a member of the street team and later on as a casual announcer. In 2015, Shura was the anchor of the ‘Weekend Breakfast’ show broadcast nationally on the HIT network every Saturday and Sunday from 7-9am with Jo Stanley and Michael Beveridge. Currently he is working at Southern Cross Austereo as a casual announcer on MMM Melbourne. 

Shura has also worked on a number of corporate advertising campaigns including Expedia, which won awards at the Cannes Advertising Festival, as well as working with McCains, Volkswagen, AAMI Insurance, Hungry Jacks, Wet ‘n’ Wild theme parks, and the Australian Diamond company. 

With his experience working across TV, Radio, and big corporate brands, Shura is also a highly skilled MC where he has the ability to read and engage the crowd, and has successfully interviewed guests across the sporting and business landscape at a number of events. Currently he is the Match Day host for his beloved Hawthorn Football Club. 

Currently Shura is an ambassador for charities ‘TLC for Kids’ and ‘Red Dust Role Models’ which he has held since 2007 and 2010 respectively.
